John Sweet
Warning.. I installed these with the bolt-on option using supplied hardware at the normal height with my new Falcon 3.3 shocks on my 2016 Jeep JK with a 2 1/2 in Teraflex Lift. The first time driving off-road, I drove over a rock on the road, and heard dull bang, but the Jeep did not shake, and I thought nothing of it at first, except I noticed a scraping sound. I stopped and to my dismay found the skid plate was ripped apart at the bolt hole that is shared with attaching the lower control arm. The skid plate with the new shock attached was bent rearward causing the shock rod to contact the rear sway bar and bent the rod on the shock bad enough it was stuck in the extended position. I wrote to Teraflex a few days ago using their website, but received no response yet. I feel I would have been better off without the shock skid plate. I recommend welding it if you want to try them out, which is one of the install options listed in the procedure.
