Sorry Teraflex I had to go low on the rating... I have a 2018 Rubicon Recon JK and added (as an option) the Complete Alpha Hinged HD Spare Tire Carrier. Needless to say Jeep mounts the third brake light on a bracket mounted on the tire lugs. The installation looked like an engineering afterthought and wasn't something I was pleased with. So I purchased this third brake light installation and am surprised it's not build with the same quality and strength as the hinge and tire carrier. These are the issues I had with the installation: 1. It's flimsy and rattles as I pass over bumps or whenever I shut the tailgate. 2. I don't really know what the spacer was for and when I tried to install it the OEM bolts are too short. I didn't see a gapping issue and left it off my installation. 3. The hardware that came with it was bare silver bolts nuts and washers and I would have expected them to be black to match the mounting. I'll by black anodized hardware and swap them out. 4. It's overpriced for the flimsy design. Of course I'll keep it, it's still better than the light mounted to the lugs. I will probably add bungee cords to it to help stop the forward and backward flexing. If that doesn't help I might remove it and see what it would cost to have a fab shop build me a like bracket out of heavier steel and powder coat it.
